Our Story: Humble Beginnings During Testing Times!

Flambé at Home ignited from a simple act of kindness during the COVID-19 pandemic when Chef Jordan’s homemade meals, originally meant to uplift friends and family, sparked a demand that evolved our business entirely! This shift from full-scale catering to focusing on convenient, home-delivered culinary experiences was inspired by a vision of a more balanced lifestyle and a dedication to enhancing dinner time for everyone…   IN YOUR OWN HOME!

We realized that making Meals Easier was great for one meal…  But making WEEKs & MONTHS easier has offered 10X more convenience for YOU!

Every week our team of Red Seal Chefs in Kaleden BC create meals to be delivered on Friday. House-made breads, sauces and dressings are all made from scratch with care. Prime cuts of meat are complemented with produce from local Okanagan farms – we like to keep it seasonal! Many of the slow cooking processes that Flambe is famous for take time (sometimes days!) and we know not everyone has the time to add cooking from scratch to their daily to-do list. High-quality food is a labour of love and we’re doing what we love so that you can spend more time doing what you love (and chow down on delicious high-quality meals too). These menus have been mastered over the 10+ years that chef Jordan Ash has been running this little commercial kitchen on the lake and we’re excited to share – every Friday! It’s one day a week you can avoid kitchen time. Meals are delivered cooked and ready to reheat with detailed instructions that usually involve your oven and about 20 minutes… but no shopping, no recipes, no prep or dishes! Flambe is growing and now offering deliveries across the South Okanagan every Friday. You can order for one week, or subscribe for FREE DELIVERY and weekly meals delivered to your door. The evolution of Flambé Catering and Flambé At Home

Chef & owner Jordan Ash grew up locally in Naramata. His passion for cooking started at a young age cooking with family and then working at the acclaimed Country Squire restaurant as a teenager. Chef and owner Patt Dyck (now owner and operator of Cannery Brewing Co.) mentored Jordan and took him on as an apprentice at the young age of just 17! Working in Victoria and throughout the South Okanagan he completed his Red Seal Chef certification at age 20 in 2005. Later working for Swiss chef Heinz Schmidt at Catering Done Right, his love for charcuterie, meat cookery and catering was born. With the opportunity of a kitchen space becoming available at the former 1912 restaurant in Kaleden, Flambé Catering was founded in 2010. Starting out slowly with a handful of small weddings and events through the summer season, momentum quickly gained and local friend and chef Trevor Wingrove came to work at Flambé. After just a couple of short seasons the two partnered in the business and grew things to accommodate off site weddings & events while continuing to host weddings and events at the 1912 Venue simultaneously. The two worked together successfully for seven years cooking in countless locations throughout the South Okanagan.
Gearing up for what would have been the busiest Flambé season to date, the Covid 19 pandemic struck and changed the landscape of the food delivery companies entirely. During the first pandemic lockdown chef Trevor decided to gift his close friends and family some delicious homemade cooking as a way to pass the time and do something nice in the process. After many days of doing very little and staying indoors as instructed, one of these heavenly little care packages made its way to Jordan’s door step along with a text message telling him to check outside his door. This thoughtful gesture came at a time when people were craving social contact like never before. Jordan was so impacted by this he decided to get in the kitchen the following week to whip up a batch of homemade curry so he could pass on the feeling that he had experienced. After two short weeks of gifting food to close friends and family the public started to ask if they could pass on this act of kindness to their own friends and family. This was the moment that Flambé At Home was born! This slowly grew and adapted over time, creating a strong following for in home meal delivery and eventually appeared to be a new business opportunity altogether. In January 2021 it was decided that Flambé Catering would be reborn as and this would be the new future of the business. Since then things have evolved immensely into a weekly rotating menu with the option to subscribe for recurring deliveries. Homemade frozen items have also now been added for delivery and many more exciting things are still to come!
